Forward Ladies is a global platform which connects women to opportunities, networks, businesses and expertise that empowers them. Forward Ladies have now announced the shortlist for the 2017 National Awards, sponsored by HSBC; bringing together start-ups, multi-million-pound businesses, academics and international business leaders.
We are thrilled to announce that Interactive Scientific’s CEO, Dr Becky Sage, is one of the leaders shortlisted for London and The South region, for the work that she does, with the Interactive Scientific team to apply science and technology to the creation of our product, Nano Simbox and for her endeavour to develop more inclusive science learning and research environments. Becky will be competing in the new STEM Rising Star category, one of 12 award categories.
Dr Becky Sage commented “it is an unexpected honour to have been nominated for the Forward Ladies Awards 2017, and a privilege to be alongside so many talented business leaders and entrepreneurs. Now more than ever, it is important that we pave the way for the next generation of young women to engage with STEM, and allow them to go confidently with their passions.”
The regional finals will take place on Friday 15th September, and the winners from all regional finals will then be invited to appear before a live panel of independent judges in November, followed by the national final in Leeds on 1st December.
Forward Ladies Managing Director, Griselda Togobo commented that: “This has been a fantastic year for women and now it’s time to change gear and focus on the support needed to nurture talent regardless of gender, sector or region. The award categories are a reflection not only of the types of businesses with which women are involved, but also those which showcase the underrepresented women working in traditionally male dominated fields such as Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), Digital and Online industries.”
